Our Facilitator
John Baluyot, MBA, MLdp, GCSC
John is a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach who specializes in the use of strengths-science to formulate strategies. He manages relationships with the following CliftonStrengths themes: Significance, Maximizer, Input and Communication.
He has been in a 17-year relationship with his husband, Mark.
They started dating by exploring various pathways that are aligned with their strengths. It took a lot attempts with numerous dates before John met Mark. They attended a friend’s birthday party together after being match-made by a common friend. They had their second date at a wake of John’s colleague. And their third was at a mall in Quezon City, where John finally asked Mark to be his boyfriend. Even when it took less than a month before they became a couple, they both believed that “when you find the right one, you just intentionally continue to make things work”.
John started living with Mark and after four years, bought their first property together. In 2018, before he left to study for Australia, John proposed to Mark. They both got legally married in Melbourne a year after. To date, both are still happily enjoying their lives as husband and husband.
At work, John is the CEO and Co-founder of Positive Workplaces. He was also the 2020 President of the Philippine Society for Talent Development and was one of the youngest Global Managers of Swiss Multinational Company SGS Group, where he worked for almost a decade.
He graduated with distinction in Monash University, Australia as an Australia Awards Scholar under the degree of Master of Leadership specializing in Organizational Learning and finished his MBA in De La Salle University Manila. He also has a Behavioral Science degree from the University of Santo Tomas.
